  1. Much better than the Browning boxes 4 Star Review

    I tried two Browning boxes for my Recon Force Elite HP4 and they didn't fit. Browning was no help. I bought a CamLockBox for it and it fits great. So when I got an HP5, I ordered straight from CamLockBox again. The fit is also excellent. I do have two suggestions for improvement though. The first is that there's no hole in the bottom to match the camera's threaded receiver for a tripod or bracket tree mount. The second is that there is no way to lock it with a python cable through the two halves of the box behind the camera like many designs out there. You have to run it through the matching tabs on the bottom of the front, and when the box is mounted on a tree, this is hard to do. Of course, I could hang a padlock there, but then I'd need two locks since I use the python to lock the box to the tree. Otherwise, the box is well made and it fits the camera very well.

    I purchased a Browning Dark Ops trail camera a couple of years ago. Opening and closing the Browning made bear box was a real chore. They are cheaply made of tin, and very difficult to open or close. I had to resort to carrying a screwdriver in my pack just to pry the thing open. Frustrated, I purchased my first CAMLOCKbox for it. Made of steel, superior quality, and opening to remove my trailcamera is a breeze. Just ordered another one for my new Browning Recon Force elite HP5. Fits perfectly and so easy to mount with the lceramic coated titanium screws I purchased with the bear box. Only one I would ever own. I am a guaranteed purchaser and a very happy one at that. these American made bear boxes are the best!! You will not regret purchasing one for each of your trail cameras!!
